Iran joins the few

Iran reportedly has launched its first satellite, Omid. This makes Iran only the 14th entity capable of launching something into space. (Some delineations are a tad fuzzy, but here’s the link to the Spacefaring entry on Wikipedia.) While some only see fear that the satellites will be replaced with nukes, I couldn’t be happier for them. Instead of fearing them because they can do what we can do, let’s celebrate that they can do what we can do.
