Cosmic near-miss

I learned of this from Bad Astronomy.

Space Rock 2009 DD45 Buzzes Earth

A 30m rock will whiz past tomorrow, so technically the title of that article should be “Space Rock 2009 DD45 to Buzz Earth.” šŸ˜›

Despite any grammatical problem this is really cool. Before anyone points out all the space rocks in the news recently – the one that exploded over Africa, the one over Canada, and the one over Texas (I didn’t blog about that one) – are some sign or whatever, the only reason we’re seeing more of these is that we are looking. And for good reason. We don’t want this.
