Bah humbug

I’m not big on wishing people a happy [insert whatever holiday].  Now some would say that I’m just a negative person, but I think it’s the opposite.  If you asked me how a hundred people picked at random would answer when asked how they felt about me and whatever holiday, I would say that honestly they wouldn’t care since they probably wouldn’t know me, but if pressed they would wish me to have a happy holiday.  And I bet I would be correct 100% of the time.  I’m such a “positive” person, that I don’t expect people to wish me ill.  So people constantly telling me to “Have a Happy Holiday” gets annoying.  It’s like if everybody came up to you and told you the sky is blue.  At first it would be, odd.  Then it would get annoying, then irritating, and end with you going, “What the hell is wrong with you people?” If someone came up to me and told me that they wanted me to have a miserable holiday, that would be news.  That would be vital information.  But if they said, “Happy Holiday,” I’m like, “I already know.  You don’t need to tell me.”

  1. It is nice to hear I’m not the only one who feels this way.

  2. There are more of us than meet the eye. 😀
