A world less clear
It’s been a rough week, and when I stopped at a coffee shop after work, I didn’t feel like writing. I forced out a sentence or two, but I wasn’t enjoying it. For some reason, I thought about looking at the world for twenty minutes or so without my glasses. (It was one of those odd ideas that come to me from time to time.)
It was dark and there’s a busy road on the other side of the parking lot. In my glassless state I couldn’t make out the cars and their lights were just these bright, red, white and yellow blobs that zipped along; blinking as they passed behind trees and lampposts. They were almost pretty.
After ten minutes or so, I noticed my mood had improved. I guess sometimes you just need to take a step back and look upon a world less clear.
